01

Overview

The Cosminnox ("we", "us", "our"), operated by IDC India, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and what rights you have regarding your data.

This Policy applies to all users of the Cosminnox platform — including our website, mobile applications, newsletters, and subscription services — regardless of how you access them.

02

Data We Collect

Account & Identity Data: When you create an account or subscribe, we collect your name, email address, billing information, and chosen credentials.

Usage Data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Platform — including pages visited, articles read, time spent, search queries, device type, browser, IP address, and referring URLs.

Communication Data: When you contact us or submit content, we retain the contents of those communications and your contact details.

Cookie & Tracking Data: We use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to recognise you, remember preferences, and serve relevant content. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.

03

How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data to: provide and personalise the Platform experience; process subscriptions and payments; send editorial newsletters and transactional communications; analyse Platform usage to improve content and features; comply with our legal obligations; and prevent fraud or abuse.

We will not use your personal data for automated decision-making that produces significant legal effects without your consent.

Where we send you marketing communications, we rely on your consent or legitimate interest. You may opt out at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us directly.

04

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with trusted third-party service providers who process data on our behalf — such as payment processors, email delivery services, analytics platforms, and cloud infrastructure providers — under strict data processing agreements.

We may disclose data where required by law, court order, or regulatory authority; to protect the rights, property, or safety of The Cosminnox, our users, or the public; or in connection with a corporate transaction such as a merger or acquisition.

05

Cookies & Tracking

We use essential cookies (required for the Platform to function), preference cookies (to remember your settings), analytics cookies (to understand usage patterns), and advertising cookies (where applicable for marketing). You can opt out of non-essential cookies via our cookie consent banner or browser settings.

We use Google Analytics and similar tools to collect aggregated, anonymised usage statistics. These services may set their own cookies. Please refer to their respective privacy policies for details.

06

Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy, or as required by law. Account data is retained for the duration of your subscription and for up to two years following account deletion, after which it is permanently erased or anonymised.

Usage logs and analytics data are typically retained for 24 months in identifiable form, then aggregated or deleted.

07

Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to: access a copy of the personal data we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request erasure of your data; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent at any time; and receive your data in a portable format.

To exercise any of these rights, email magazine@idcindia.net with the subject line "Data Rights Request". We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

08

Security

We implement industry-standard security measures — including TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, access controls, and regular security audits — to protect your data against unauthorised access, disclosure, or destruction.

While we take all reasonable precautions, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you suspect a security breach, please notify us immediately at magazine@idcindia.net

09

Children's Privacy

The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

10

International Transfers

Your data may be processed or stored outside India. Where we transfer data internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place — such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions — to ensure your data is protected to the standards described in this Policy.

11

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be announced on the Platform and by email. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of the Platform after such notice constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
